This float was entered in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, January 1, 1955 by the Los Angeles County Past Deputies Association for the Odd Fellows of California.
The float was made of the following flowers, which were glued onto the frame by volunteers from local lodges who donated approximately 700 hours of labor.; 150,000 Chrysanthemums, 6,000 Roses (each in a test tube of water), 5,000 Stock blossoms, 2,000 Bachelor buttons and 2,500 Poinsettia petals.
The expense of the float was provided for by donations from California Lodges. We have been invited to enter another float in the 1956 parade and a committee has been appointed to work out the details.
Paul D. Bishop, PGP, Chairman of the Float Committee.
