This beautiful FIRST PRIZE float "LOVE IN BLOOM" was our 20th year, and is 48 feet long, 17 feet high, and 16 feet wide. A delicate display of hearts and flowers, with large sculptured hearts, decorated with white mums and orchids, supporting a veil of strung carnation petals and small hearts. Topping the veil is a garden consisting of a profusion of pink roses and orchids. The base is covered with thousands of multi-colored azaleas, roses and tropical fern. Around the bottom of the float, is an intricately designed filigree covered with thousands of vanda orchids. Standing on a beautiful double tiered heart at the front, are, Sally Edgington, Theta Rho President of Ohio, and Darrell Bailey, Junior Odd Fellow from Billings, Montana, giving special meaning to the words, "Love in Bloom".
All the leaders of our order were present to help decorate this float, along with the members from California and other places. Most of the hard work is done by the Juniors and Theta Rhos of California.
Robert Haynes, Chairman of the Float Committee.
