"Our Youth Salutes America."
The 22nd float in a row for the Order. This float featuring the Large Symbol 200, with the American Bald Eagles peering out from each side, and 41 hanging floral baskets, with four of our outstanding Juniors and Theta Rhos representing Our Youth, riding this beautiful creation, kicks off our Bicentennial in a very special way. Being 50 feet long, 18 feet wide, and 16 feet high, and decorated with thousands of Pink and Yellow Roses, Camellias, Orchids, Carnation petals, White Mums dried materials for the Eagles beak and Pampas Grass for feathers. It was truly a part of this beautiful America.
Riding the Float from front to the back were: Debbie Whitmore, Theta Rho President of California; Lloyd Stone, Grand Ruler of Colorado; Rhonda Weaver, ThetaRho President of Louisiana; and Frank Aanenson Grand Ruler of California. All the International Leaders were on hand to help decorate the Float and to watch it glide down Colorado Boulevard on New Years Day. This year we again won first place in the Fraternal Division.
