"PROCLAIMING A NEW WORLD" is the theme of the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs float in the 99th annual Tournament of Roses Parade, with the parade theme of "Communications". This being the 34th consecutive year of participation, shows the continued dedication and support of all the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs.

The colorful float depicts a large figure representing Columbus, standing in the middle of the float, next to a large treasure chest. He is holding a parchment map of the New World and explaining his discovery to "King Ferdinand" and "Queen Isabella".

Riding the float are Scott Lamphere, Grand Treasurer, and Gina Rippetoe, President,Theta Rho Assembly, both of Calif., as King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. The two guards are Kelly Murry of Colorado, and Chris Shuler of Calif.
